Organize It!

Organize it

If you read last week’s guest post, I featured entrepreneur and blogger Melissa Bowens and her company “When Life.”  Well, to spin-off of the the old saying that inspired her mission, “When life gives you lemons, make lemonade,” I’d like to give you my own version of this motto:

“When pregnancy gives you crazy organizational nesting energy, make an online course.”

Is that a stretch?

Oh well. Moral of the story is, I was given an insane amount of nesting energy with this pregnancy. I could not stop cleaning, organizing, and decorating our house. In doing so, I realized how fantastic it feels to finally make the push to get your home in working order.

Even though we have lived in this house for four and a half years, it have never really gotten it to the point that I’ve wanted it to be organizationally. Creating this course for you has forced me to finally get my butt in gear and create systems throughout my house that actually WORK. My goal is to bring this motivation and energy into your home as well.

The course is designed to take a week of your time, focusing on one area of your home per day. The different days include the following: 1) your kitchen, 2) your closets (bedroom and linen), 3) your garage, 4) your playroom or kid spaces, 5) your laundry room/mud room, and 6) your home office. Day 7 focuses on how to KEEP these areas of your home organized now that you’ve worked so hard to get them where you want them to be.

You can obviously take more or less than one week for this course depending on what your home needs. We spent a good amount of time on our laundry room because we painted and bought new shelving. Now, it’s one of my favorite rooms in the house.

The course is fun, to say the least.  It is full of quick-wins that keep you motivated and encouraged throughout the week. The fact that you focus on just one area at a time is also a great motivator in continuing to the next space in your house.  It looks too pretty and clutter-free to not keep going!

I hope you will enroll and I hope the course gives you a new love for your home. It certainly did for me.

I’ll leave you with a word from a student who completed the “Closets” module of this course:

“The pictures don’t do it justice! We got rid of 6 bags of clothes! And one bag of wire/ mismatched hangers. We do not have any dressers in our room so everything goes in the closet. As you can see, our closet was in need of help!
Now it is clean, organized and functional. There is still a few things I want to do to make it look even nicer. Thanks for the motivation and advice to get this done!”
