A Peek at My Holiday Decor

Holiday Decor

Is there anyone out there that doesn’t love this time of year? Honestly. There’s just something so magical about December. The smell of eminent snow in the air, the warm glow of lights that adorn the homes you normally would pass by without noticing, and the excitement of holiday preparations that we so carefully plan for months in advance.

This year I thought I’d give you a little peek into my decorated home and share a few of my favorite home decor items for the holidays.

I tried sticking to a green, white, wood and cranberry color pallet in my living room. Riley was a bit bummed that I ditched the colored lights on the tree this year, but I gave her something special you’ll see later on in this post.  This room is overall calming and warm, and I love my new pom-pom garland and glass ornaments from Target this year.

In the Girls’ Rooms…

Sometimes we leave the holiday decor to just the main living areas of our home. This year, I wanted to show you a couple little things you can add to the bedrooms in your home to make them magical as well.

In Riley’s room, I always hang this adorable Christmas tree garland. Unfortunately, I bought it three years ago and literally have no idea where I got it from. My guess would be Land of Nod or Target but neither of those places are selling it today. So, sorry for making you want to buy something and not telling you where you can get it. I’m the worst!

I also put this little tree in her room this year, which she loves. I usually put it up in her playroom but there is currently a doll house residing in its former spot. This tree was a happy compromise for Riley this year since I used all white lights on our big tree in the living room. This one got to have colored lights and I let her use any ornaments she wanted on her tree.

Riley also got a pink bottlebrush tree and a super cute nativity set on her bookshelf to give it a little Christmas spirit. These bottlebrush trees are the deal this year. I would go so far as to say they are the number one trend in holiday decor. I’m seeing them everywhere. And no wonder! They are super cute!

In Logan’s room, I simply added a few of those same bottlebrush trees and the most perfect little wreath for this space. It matches her room perfectly and the lights give the sweetest glow to her already sweet room.
