I’ve been feeling a need to slow down a bit lately. The beginning of the school year brings lots of excitement and getting used to new schedules and routines. My husband and I have also been running in different directions and we’ve had tons of things going on with our family and friends lately. I’m looking forward to a week where we can stop and catch our breath. Where the weather is clear and crisp, we can drink some hot coffee while it’s still hot, maybe go to a pumpkin patch, and I would really love to sit with my 5 year-old and do a fall craft. We recently returned from an all-girls road trip to Nashville, Tennessee. This has been a tradition ever since I was a little girl. My mom would take me and her mom to little places all within driving distance for a long weekend, just us girls. We would go to craft shows or Colonial Williamsburg or Plymouth Rock, somewhere cute and adventurous, but easy enough to handle in just a few days. Even though this tradition started when I was only four or five years old, I still have memories stored away from those trips, and my mom and I hope to keep those memories going with my girls.
