One of my favorite styles lately is this “California casual” style I’ve been seeing all over the place. Emily Henderson has been posting a lot about how to get this effortless look in your homes on her blog. It’s fresh, bright and put together, but very comfortable and inviting at the same time. I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to not just use this style in a room, but actually go to California to create it. My cousin Ronnie, who is actually closer to my dad’s age, has been talking with me for awhile about helping him out with his house in Davis, California.
Stuck living in a house that you KNOW is not your forever home? Are there aspects about your home that drive you crazy? Is it too small with not enough storage space? Does it have awkward rooms that don’t make much sense?
Or maybe you ARE in your forever home but you are not in a place financially or otherwise that you can make the changes you desire to have in this home. You might be chomping at the bit for a kitchen reno that you know won’t be coming for at least another year or two. Probably all of us have something we would like to change about our home.
As of this past October, I have joined the many lucky entrepreneurs who have decided to go out on their own to follow their passions and create their own business. While this comes with its share of fears, sleepless nights and nearly daily reminders that
“Failure is not the opposite of success, it is part of success, blah blah blah”
and many other sayings like it, this venture on your own also comes with an abundance of blessings. One of mine being the opportunity to work from home.
