Just a few more days until those guests come knocking at your door for Christmas dinner! Are you ready?
The answer to this is probably not. There is so much to do to get ready for this holiday, and if I’m honest, rushing around is part of the fun! We’re hosting Christmas dinner this year, and I am SO excited! It’s going to be a wonderful small group, just my parents, my mother and father-in-law, and my brother-in-law. Plus me, Dave and the girls. Seven adults- I don’t think I’ve ever had such a small and intimate Christmas dinner. This is right up my alley.
One of my favorite styles lately is this “California casual” style I’ve been seeing all over the place. Emily Henderson has been posting a lot about how to get this effortless look in your homes on her blog. It’s fresh, bright and put together, but very comfortable and inviting at the same time. I had the opportunity a few weeks ago to not just use this style in a room, but actually go to California to create it. My cousin Ronnie, who is actually closer to my dad’s age, has been talking with me for awhile about helping him out with his house in Davis, California.
Well, we had our ultrasound last week and the baby was in a great position to determine the gender. Turns out my motherly instinct needs some tweaking. I have told EVERYONE we are having a boy. I had such a strong gut feeling about it. I even told Dave we didn’t need to find out the sex because I was so sure it was going to be a boy. We decided to find out mainly for our four-year-old daughter who has been praying for a sister since before Dave and I even got pregnant. I knew she would need the time to adjust to having a brother before he actually got here.
